Job description:

Technology Services is a key component and enabler for Services Australia. At the forefront of public sector Information and Communication Technology (ICT) transformation, Technology Services’ vision is to excel in the provision of reliable, accessible and personalised services. The Agency’s technology infrastructure, combined with its deep understanding and experience in delivering complex customer-focused services enables Technology Services to shape the next generation of community services and lead best practice in service delivery.

We are looking to fill APS 4 Associate Developer roles across numerous technology platforms and teams who will contribute to the high quality and consistent delivery of our programs of work. 

Working as part of a team, you will focus on supporting, enhancing and maintaining applications and frameworks in the software development life cycle. Specifically, you will analyse, develop, enhance, integrate, review, test, maintain and document custom components in support of business and technical requirements.

You will use your knowledge, education, experience and learn from colleagues to provide technical advice, create solutions and maintain critical systems that allow us to continue to provide essential services to the Australian Public.

The key duties of the position include:

Duties may include some or all of the following: 

  • Assist with analysis, design, software development, prototyping, testing and maintenance activities.
  • Build productive relationships and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure effective and timely resolution of production issues.
  • Assist with the definition of software and technical designs for the realisation of low complexity custom solutions or conversion and migration solutions.
  • Under guidance, adhere to high quality standards in software development.
  • Provide go-live support and maintenance for developments.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of projects and escalate issues as identified.
  • Eligibility

    Security Clearance level required: Baseline (or ability to obtain and maintain)

    To be eligible for employment with Services Australia, applicants must be an Australian citizen. An applicant’s suitability for employment with the agency will be assessed through a pre-employment screening process. This process includes a requirement for the applicant to undergo and satisfy a national police history check, referee checks and an employment history integrity check and where relevant, a Working with Children and Vulnerable People Check. A health clearance may also need to be completed. Any concerns raised in these checks will be further investigated.     Applicants must be willing and eligible to undergo and maintain an Australian Government security clearance to the appropriate level, if applicable to the position. 

    You should be aware that Services Australia employees may be required to undergo ongoing suitability assessments as part of their employment with the agency.
