The opportunity:

This is a high-profile role in the Communications and Corporate Affairs team which exists to support AIA with its internal communications, to develop strong, purpose-led staff engagement. In this varied role, you will be working independently to develop and execute internal communications from end to end. This is a 6-month contract role so we’re looking for someone who can pick up ‘AIA voice’ quickly and run with it! We are open to applicants from Sydney and Melbourne for this opportunity.

The role has one direct report, based in Melbourne.

To do this successfully you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the internal communication requirements of other business units

  • Supporting CEO and Executive team in preparing for internal communications, including development of talking points, slide packs and written staff updates

  • Overseeing and approving any internal communications prepared by other business units

  • Responsible for AIA’s internal Corporate Communications shared mailbox and company intranet, and the release and publication of all internal communications via these channels

  • Development of weekly staff newsletters and any ad hoc comms to foster engagement and ensure staff are provided with critical information

  • Assisting to develop ANZ communications strategy

  • Successful applications will demonstrate:

  • Proven ability to develop and execute impactful communications strategies for varied audiences

  • Practical experience in a similar senior role

  • Proven experience and success in acting as a positive company ambassador, developing influencer strategies for relevant stakeholder groups, and ability to develop strong relationships

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Communications leadership and people management experience

  • Strong commercial acumen

  • Thought leadership: Ability to research, reimagine and articulate new ways forward
