About the Role

Reporting to the National Safety & Supply Chain People Engagement Manager, this full time role is responsible for the delivery of HR support within the Bundamba Distribution Centre, consisting of around 200 employees and leading the development and implementation of the company ER/IR initiatives.

We are seeking an experienced HR all-rounder, with a passion for Industrial and Employee Relations who will partner with managers across Supply Chain, Customer Service and Sales teams to create sustained improvement in people practices and culture.

Role responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide effective support to Team Leaders on end to end recruitment 
  • Measure, manage and improve employee engagement by delivering a People Engagement Operational Plan
  • Work collaboratively to update and improve People Engagement processes
  • Promote API’s Ways of Working and Vision statement by coaching and communicating with internal stakeholders
  • Support employees with complex Enterprise Agreement and policy enquiries
  • Provide advice and guidance in relation to industrial relations, employment laws and practices
  • Review industry best practice guidelines, relevant legislation and industry news to implement strategies and provide advice on people processes.
  • Assist with performance management to ensure the delivery of performance excellence
  • Communicate and inform internal stakeholders of current industrial landscape to ensure alignment of business strategy
  • Utilise negotiation and influencing skills to ensure required consultation processes are completed with worker representatives in the review of API’s processes
  • Coach and support Team Members to lead by example and recognise positive behaviour using the ‘We Love Your Work’ program.
  • Provide ongoing support, training, and assistance with our HRIS system – SAP SuccessFactors
  • About You

    You will be a motivated and talented individual who is comfortable interacting with stakeholders at all levels of the business. Your passion for people and performance excellence will be second to none.

    You will also possess the following skills and attributes:

  • Tertiary qualification in HR management, Industrial Relations or related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in HR Manager/Advisor role ideally in a unionised environment
  • Strong knowledge in ER/IR, employment laws and practices
  • Demonstrated experience in employee relations and industrial relations combined with an understanding of operations within the warehouse and distribution sector
  • Ability to effectively influence the Industrial Relations impact on site performance
  • Demonstrated knowledge of current OH&S legislation and related practices
  • Strong ability to coach line management to create behavioural change
  • Strong operational HR skill set (eg: HR metrics, recruitment and selection, induction, performance management)
  • Proven experience in measuring, managing and improving employee engagement
  • Proven ability to influence and relate to all levels of the organisation
  • Experienced in the design and delivery of key HR initiatives
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
