Human Resources

Human Resources (HR) at The University of Queensland (UQ) directly supports the University’s strategic ambitions through attracting and developing high performing staff, and delivers high quality advice and support to our clients on all aspects of HR and people matters.

UQ HR has and continues to build a team of exceptional HR professionals to provide customer-focused and contemporary solutions and services for our clients.

This is a particularly exciting time for UQ HR with the planning and design stage close to completion for the introduction of a highly advanced Human Capital Management System (HCMS). Our new systems will have a transformative impact on UQ HR’s service offering and strategic capability.

About This Opportunity

Our Senior HR Managers (known locally as Senior Managers, HR Client Partnering) are senior strategic and operational leads for HR activities within a defined University client group. Partnering with senior stakeholders, our Senior HR Managers are trusted to lead a broad suite of HR services and products and contribute to the development of functional strategy and operational plans at a local level. The successful candidate will;

  • lead and develop a high-performing team;
  • consult on and manage complex and high risk employee relations issues;
  • deliver change management, workplace culture, performance, and other HR initiatives and projects;
  • implement centralised HR services and initiatives at a local level.

Our Senior HR Managers are part of the University’s HR Functional Leadership Team (HR FLT), and influence the direction of the function overall, in partnership with our senior HR generalists and specialists. Appointment is to The University of Queensland, therefore our successful candidate could be reassigned to different senior HR teams, client groups and initiatives in the future.

We are currently offering Senior HR Manager roles in the following faculties:

  • Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (HASS)
  • Faculty of Business, Economics and Law (BEL)
  • Research Institutes

These positions are located at our picturesque St Lucia campus.

  • highly experienced in relationship management, employee relations, organisational change, and policy and legislative compliance;
