Reporting to the Digital Development Lead, the Intermediate .Net Developer will provide a vital role in building and maintaining software solutions at Optus Stadium. In this role, you will be part of a small Agile team and will be involved in all aspects of the software development lifecycle with a focus on software development. Our software solutions are running on a modern tech stack, utilising the latest versions of .NET Core with NServiceBus for a distributed software system that is reliable, easily scalable and reduces coupling between applications. At VenuesLive, we strive to follow development best practice to ensure our applications run efficiently, are maintainable whilst delivering solutions faster and easier using tried and tested frameworks such as NServiceBus.

Based full time at Optus Stadium, you will have opportunity to deliver software solutions across all elements of the VenuesLive business, ranging from Events & Operations, Catering, Commercial & Marketing, Finance and People & Culture. VenuesLive embraces cross business involvement where you can be involved in areas outside your general accountabilities, allowing you to gain valuable experience across the entire business.

This role primarily focuses on the integration of vital business systems to improve the flow of data between core business systems, whilst being involved in the creation and maintenance of internal utilities as well as customer facing applications. The ideal candidate for this role is someone who shows a passion for solving problems for both internal business users and external customers.

Your focus will be to:

  • Participate in Agile planning meetings and requirements
  • Collaborate with team members in product software design and technical documentation
  • Write clean, scalable code
  • Refactor, debug, and maintain code
  • Automated testing, and be involved with CI/CD processes
  • Improve and support existing software
  • Develop documentation throughout the software development life cycle
  • To be successful, you will have

  • 3+ years’ proven commercial experience as a Software Developer using .NET Core, ASP. Net MVC and .NET Framework
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, HTML5, Angular 2, CSS, JavaScript, and Mobile development
  • Experience with Enterprise Service Bus patterns and implementation, in particular NServiceBus
  • Knowledge of at-least one backend language. Preferably C#
  • Good UI and design skills
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies
  • Exposure to cloud computing services, preferably Azure
  • Understanding of CI/CD strategies
  • API development experience (desirable)
  • Experience working with POS, E-commerce, ERP systems or a product related business (desirable)
